Composer
Dale Sakamoto (b. 1989) hails from South Orange County in California.
From an early age he studied piano and music theory at the Phoenix Academy and joined band and choir in high school.
He received his Bachelor's in Music from Vanguard University, Master's in Music from Baylor University and Doctorate in Music from Arizona State University.
He has attended several festivals from June in Buffalo to New Music on the Point and has watched his music be performed throughout the United States
along with Canada and Europe. He currently resides in Santa Ana, CA with his wife and dog where he works as a software developer and composer.
Meandering between the lines of tonality and atonality his music is an eclectic blend
of textural and motivic ideas. His true passion is choir and vocal music which includes
several pieces for advanced high school and college choir down to junior high boys choir.
His music is published on Walton Publications, Alliance Publications and Leading Tones Music, LLC.

Received an instructional teaching assistantship appointment that included a stipend and half-priced tuition and published a dissertation titled Women Composers in the Music Theory Curriculum and wrote an operetta titled Revered Stormfield Goes to Heaven that received a $1200 grant.
Received a full ride scholarship and graduate assistantship with stipend and completed a full orchestral piece titled Whiteout.
